Bringing Sunflowers to Life with Texture and Ink

🌍 Global Design Flower Challenge
This week’s challenge is all about flowers!

You know I couldn’t resist this one! I went straight for my Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder to create a rich, vibrant card packed with bold colour and beautiful texture.
🎨 Inked & Embossed Blooms
I started by embossing a panel of Basic White cardstock using the Sunflower folder. Then, working on the debossed side, I ink blended Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie across the petals, Early Espresso for the flower centers, Old Olive for the leaves, and finished with a dramatic sweep of Blackberry Bliss across the background. The glow and depth made the sunflowers feel like they were leaping off the page!

✂️ Fussy Cut Feature
Once the panel was coloured, I fussy cut a section to highlight as my focal point. I embossed a second Crumb Cake panel and gave it a soft ink swipe in Crumb Cake for subtle contrast. Then I layered the two pieces and trimmed the panel down to 4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″.
✨ Finishing Touches
A few gold paint splatters brought in just the right touch of shine, and I adhered the entire piece onto a metallic gold panel for a luxe finish. A sweet sentiment and soft ribbon tie it all together.
This card is a celebration of texture, colour, and flower power — all in one bold design. If you haven’t tried 3D embossing + ink blending, this is your sign to dive in!
